HK exhibits cultural items in Tianhe
The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Guangdong launched an exhibition at Popark Shopping Plaza in Guangzhou's Tianhe district on Dec 1, showcasing 11 of Hong Kong's intangible cultural heritage items.
They include Canton porcelain, Hong Kong-style milk tea, guqin (a seven-stringed plucked instrument), movable-type printing, as well as mahjong.
"Through this exhibition, visitors can learn the stories behind these cultural treasures," said Su Huei-suu, director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Guangdong.
She added that this exhibition is also an opportunity for everyone to think about how to protect these valuable cultural heritages so that they can be passed on.
The exhibition will run through Dec 10.
