A conference to promote the high-quality development of the Guangdong Xingning Medical Device Industrial Park - which is located in Xingning, a county-level city of Meizhou - took place in Guangzhou's Tianhe district on Nov 23.

Eighteen enterprises, including Guangdong Anshunda Supply Chain Management, Shenzhen Shanrongkai Technology, and Jilin Honghai Medical Equipment, signed intended investment contracts with the Xingning people's government at the conference, with a total value reaching 5.14 billion yuan ($718.48 million).

Yin Hongyi, general manager of Surgery (Shenzhen) Medical Technology, noted that the company decided to move its manufacturing projects to the Guangdong Xingning Medical Device Industrial Park after learning of the industrial park's various supportive policies and development prospects. The

The company has leased a standardized plant with a space of 3,000 square meters in Xingning, Yin stated, adding that it is expected to have a production value of 250 million yuan once it is operational.

The Guangdong Xingning Medical Device Industrial Park is located in the Guangzhou Tianhe (Xingning) Industrial Transfer Park. It has a planned investment of 5 billion yuan and covers an area of 800 mu (53.33 hectares), with a floorage of 1.2 million square meters.

The park will be built into an integrated medical device industrial chain resource sharing platform that focuses on medical device research and development, production, storage, and delivery. After it is completed, the park is expected to have an annual output value of no less than 10 billion yuan and a minimum annual tax revenue of 500 million yuan.

To date, 18 medical device companies have registered in the industrial park, and some 30 others are intended to settle down here in the near future.

In recent years, Tianhe has been utilizing its assistance funds by investing them into the construction of the Guangzhou Tianhe (Xingning) Industrial Transfer Park. So far, standardized workshops totaling 380,000 sq m have been built.

The "R&D in Tianhe, manufacture in Xingning" initiative will continue to be explored. Both Tianhe and Xingning have plans to jointly establish several industrial development funds for medical enterprises in order to accelerate the development of the Guangdong Xingning Medical Device Industrial Park.
