Registration has begun for the final of the 2023 International Vertical Marathon and will last until 6 pm on Nov 21.

This year's event will take place in the Guangzhou CTF Finance Center, also known as the Canton East Tower in Tianhe district, on Dec 3. The center has a vertical height of 530 meters, with 109 floors and 3,160 steps, and is the tallest building in Guangzhou.

A bonus of 6,000 yuan ($820.5) will be granted to first-place winners from the elite group of this year's event, 3,000 yuan to second-place winners, and 2,000 yuan to third-place winners. First-, second-, and third-place winners of the open group will receive a reward of 1,200 yuan, 800 yuan and 500 yuan, respectively.

An additional 1,000 yuan will be given to those who break the event's records, which stand at 16 minutes and 51 seconds for men and 19 minutes and 50 seconds for women.

Since 2016, the International Vertical Marathon Open has been a featured sports event in Tianhe district, promoting the development of all types of sports.
