Su Bingtian Speed Challenge to kick off in Tianhe
The Su Bingtian Speed Challenge is scheduled to take place at the Tianhe Sports Center in Guangzhou's Tianhe district from Nov 18 to 19, according to the event's press conference held on Oct 26.
Launched by the Su Bingtian Center for Speed Research and Training at Jinan University in Guangzhou, it is the nation's first track and field event focusing on speed group events and will be composed of a race and four other activities.

The race includes a speed challenge and the National Track and Field Invitational Competition and will include events like 100 meter, 200 meter, 400 meter, and 4×100 meter relays. The speed challenge will be open to the public, with up to 1,000 participants and registration for which started on Oct 28. The invitational competition will invite 500 professional players from across the country to participate.
In addition, a speed training camp, a public welfare campus tour, a charity health run, and a speed challenge carnival will be held alongside the race.
Su Bingtian, vice president of the Chinese Athletics Association and director of the Su Bingtian Center for Speed Research and Training, said that the event is aimed at providing a communication and interactive platform for athletes, building a track and field training and competition system, seeking more young track and field talent, and further enhancing the influence of track and field events.
