Tianhe has been exploring the contract water-saving management model, gathering advanced water-saving equipment and technologies as well as management models to carry out water-saving efforts. Recycled water is also reused in the district's environmental sanitation and afforestation.
Moreover, the district has been carrying out diversified activities to promote water-saving. Two publicity campaigns were held at the South China National Botanical Garden and Jinan University on the 31st World Water Day on March 22 and during the China Water Week from March 22 to 28 to boost public awareness of water-saving.
The construction of water-saving institutions in the water conservancy industry was completed in Tianhe this October, while the construction rate of water-saving enterprises in key industries has reached 100 percent and that of water-saving residential communities has reached 26 percent. Six provincial-level water-saving colleges and universities have been established in the district.
