The super high-rise, also known as the second phase of Parkland Group's One Pengrui project, started construction in Guangzhou International Financial City in Tianhe district on Sept 7.

"The One Pengrui project, which settled in the eastern area of Guangzhou International Financial City, aims to contribute to the high-quality development of the district," said Guo Dongfeng, vice chairman of the group's Board of Directors.

Guo added that the One Pengrui project has the goal of surpassing Shenzhen Bay No 1. It will be a landmark complex with global influence in positioning, products, facilities, and investment.

Stretching from Huangpu Avenue and Zhongshan Avenue in the north, the Pearl River in the south, and the South China Express line in the west, Guangzhou International Financial City covers a land area of 8 square kilometers, and has a floor area of nearly 26 million square meters.

The financial city is divided into four areas that complement each other, namely the starting area, as well as the eastern, western, and northern areas. The eastern area is positioned as a technology headquarters and digital trade development area.

To date, a total of 14 prominent financial institutions and more than 60 Global Fortune 500 companies have settled their headquarters in Guangzhou International Financial City.
