Greater Bay Area center helps with economic arbitration
The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Business and Digital Economy Arbitration Center - located in the Tianhe district of Guangzhou, capital of South China's Guangdong province - is moving from strength to strength.
It has accepted over 15,000 cases in the past one year since its establishment on Aug 30, 2022 - a 21 percent year-on-year increase on the number of cases accepted in the area before the center was established.
Of those, the number of cases valued at over 10 million yuan ($1.38 million) increased by 50 percent year-on-year.

The arbitration center, making use of its premium legal service resources, has been helping resolve domestic and foreign commercial disputes involving the fields of finance, technology, e-commerce, cross-border businesses and international investment.
It helps with the informationalized, digital and intelligent upgrading of the Tianhe central business district - a national digital service export base - and aims to further improve the district's business environment.
The intelligent arbitration system and the APEC-ODR platform - an online multi-dispute resolution platform providing services for businesses from the 21 APEC member economies - allow the arbitration center to offer efficient dispute resolution services by means of negotiations, mediations and arbitration.
By the end of June, there were 359 law firms in Tianhe and 12,422 lawyers, accounting for 39.2 percent and 52.7 percent of Guangzhou's total respectively.
