Tianhe district of Guangzhou is scheduled to open four new public kindergartens in the second half of the year and add more than 6,000 slots for student enrollment in public basic education in 2023, according to a recent meeting.

In the meantime, the district will accelerate the construction of key projects like the Tianhe Intelligence Business District campus of Tianhe Foreign Language School and the expansion of Guangzhou Middle School's Fenghuang campus.

In the 2022-23 school year, the excellent physical health rate of primary and secondary school students in the district reached 69.54 percent, the highest in Guangzhou. Fifty-two students from the district's public high schools were selected for the Guangzhou Talent Program, accounting for 19.1 percent of the total, while 13 students were selected for the Guangdong Talent Program, accounting for 14.4 percent of the total, both numbers higher than any other district Guangzhou.

The special education guidance center was also established in the 2022-23 school year. Gaotangshi Primary School was included in Huayang Education Group and is undergoing upgrading and transformation, which will contribute to the educational development of the northeastern part of Tianhe.

In addition, a three-year action plan to promote educational informationization in the district was also released in the past school year. The opening rate of artificial intelligence education courses in Tianhe schools was 100 percent, and the AI course platform ranked among the top in Guangzhou in terms of user numbers.
