Tianhe takes action to spur regional development
An action plan was recently issued by the Tianhe district of Guangzhou - capital city of South China's Guangdong province - to promote the coordinated development of all its 21 neighborhoods, 230 communities and 25 economic cooperative unions.
Under it, a new pattern of coordinated development will take shape among the regions - featuring full integration, special features, strengths and common prosperity - by 2027.
Another goal is that the entire district will achieve socialist modernization by 2035, building a modern economic system and making substantial progress in achieving common prosperity.

In addition, 15 key tasks were proposed by the action plan.
The Tianhe central business district or CBD will introduce more supportive policies for high-end professional services, promote innovation in the financial sector and foster new growth drivers for the new generation of information technology.
The action plan envisages that Guangzhou International Financial City will advance the construction of key industrial projects, infrastructure and public facilities. In addition, Tianhe Smart City will accelerate the development of business parks worth 100 billion yuan ($13.73 billion) - developing itself into a leading area for collaborative science innovation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
What's more, the Tianhe Road Business Circle will boost the construction of an intelligent business circle and establish itself as a cultural, business and tourism gathering area with international influence by combining tourism resources and cultural landmarks.

The construction of a four-level park system that is composed of ecological parks, urban parks, community parks and pocket parks will also be advanced in Tianhe - along with better water environmental governance - to turn the district into a demonstration area in the Greater Bay Area for ecological progress and green economic transformation.
Focusing on Huolu Mountain, Longyandong and the Fenghuang Mountain forest parks, the district will boost the high-quality development of mountain recreational tourism.
The plan envisages that Tianhe will build a "sports + tourism" reputation by mounting such events as the Guangzhou Marathon and the International Vertical Marathon Open.
Moreover, rural collective economic organizations will be supported to build industrial parks, incubators and maker spaces to explore diversified business models and promote their upgrading.
Declarations of leading agricultural enterprises and featured Guangdong brands will also be advanced.
Furthermore, Tianhe will offer more assistance to places that are paired with it to support them in fields like retail spending, education, healthcare, employment and industrial development. To top it off, trade fairs will be staged for their agricultural products.
