Construction progresses on expressway project
Land acquisition and demolition work for the Zengcheng section of the Zengcheng-Tianhe Expressway, which will link Guangzhou's Zengcheng and Tianhe districts, is expected to be finished within the year.
The Zengcheng-Tianhe Expressway, part of the Zengcheng-Foshan Expressway, is an important channel that will connect the northern part of Guangzhou with Heyuan and Foshan. It will also contribute to the construction of the "one-hour transportation circle" in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The expressway will run for a total length of 38.4 kilometers, and will have a designated speed of 100 km per hour. It will have an estimated total investment of 15.97 billion yuan ($2.21 billion), of which 4.06 billion yuan has been completed.
The whole line is expected to be completed and operational by 2025. After it is put into operation, the travel time between Tianhe and Zengcheng will be shortened to around 30 minutes.
