The 2023 Guangzhou Nighttime Consumption Festival, jointly hosted by the Guangzhou bureau of commerce and the Tianhe district people's government, kicked off on July 12 in Guangzhou's Tianhe district, and is scheduled to run to October.

A raft of 91 commercial complexes across Guangzhou are taking part in the event, as well as 65 platforms, brand enterprises and financial institutions.

More than 600 themed activities will be held during the festival – including a gourmet market, a bar carnival, a Cantonese culture-themed night fair and camping.

Over 300,000 shopping coupons are being issued by banks like the Bank of Guangzhou, the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, the Bank of China and the China Guangfa Bank.

Discounts are also being offered by online platforms such as food delivery platforms Meituan and Eleme and Alibaba's mapping service AutoNavi on nighttime consumption.

In addition, the Guangzhou nighttime consumption report was released on the day. It showed that the user activity at night in Guangzhou ranked top in the country and its consumption ability ranked the third.

The Greater Bay Area Nighttime Economy Co-Creation Alliance was also established by the Tianhe Road Chamber of Commerce, Grandview, the Guangdong branch of China UnionPay, Winshang Tech and the Tianhe Business Value Innovation Institute - with the first group of 30 members invited.
