Plans are for the Tianhe Road-Zhujang New Town business circle - in the Tianhe district of Guangzhou city in South China's Guangdong province – to be developed into a world-class circle for international fashion consumption.

That's according to Guangzhou's recent development plan for key commercial functional areas, issued for the period of 2020-25.

The business circle, combined with the Canton Tower-Pazhou business circle in Haizhu district, will also become a world-class comprehensive retail hub in the central core area.

Plans are for it to introduce big events or cultural performances, in order to promote the integrated development of business, culture and tourism.

Moreover, traditional retail business will be upgraded, while new business ventures will be promoted. A demonstration zone for departure tax refund will also be founded.

Construction of a smart business circle will be advanced in the Tianhe business circle. Digital infrastructure, such as 5G networks and data centers, will also be boosted.

In addition, the Guangdong Olympic Sports Center business circle in Tianhe will highlight sports. It will be built into a featured business circle integrating business, sports and tourism, according to the development plan.

Based on the Tianhe Road, Zhujiang New Town and Haixinsha, an international fashion debut economy demonstration zone will be constructed with multi-consumption scenarios.

Global consumer brands will be supported to set up flagship stores and full-scene experience centers in the demonstration zone and carry out brand launching events.
