Tianhe sees surge in holiday consumption

The consumer flow at the Tianhe Road Business Circle in Guangzhou's Tianhe district stood at nearly 5.74 million over this year's three-day Dragon Boat Festival holiday, indicating an increase of 4.4 percent year-on-year.

Various activities were carried out by department stores and shopping centers in the district to add to the festive atmosphere.

Taikoo Hui held South China's first offline themed exhibition of Disney's "Duffy and Friends' Forest Tour" during the festival holiday. The appearance of LinaBell and StellaLou attracted a large number of fans to attend and take photos.

The luminous dragon boat at Heli Tiande Plaza provided customers with the chance to learn more about this intangible cultural heritage item.

The amount of sales generated during this holiday period at the GrandBuy Department Store and the Guangzhou Friendship Store exceeded 70 million yuan ($9.67 million) each. The passenger flow and sales at these two stores both achieved a double-digit year-on-year growth.
