The Tianhe district of Guangzhou recently launched its 2023 policy applications acceptance work program, based on the local policies of boosting high-quality economic and talent development.

The policy support will be deployed to recruiting in five areas - namely hiring leaders of leading enterprises, innovation and entrepreneurship talent, placements in talent development and cultivation, newly introduced high-end talent and academicians, postdoctoral fellows and doctoral workstations.

In particular, newly recruited international cutting-edge talent can receive a financial grant of up to 10 million yuan ($1 million).

Newly introduced international high-caliber talent can receive up to 10 million yuan in financial support, while the leaders of leading enterprises in key support industries - such as software and information services, finance, modern commerce and trade, high-end professional services, industry, construction and culture - can receive a subsidy of up to 1 million yuan.

Subsidies of 500,000 yuan, 300,000 yuan and up to 200,000 yuan will be given respectively to talent carrying out innovation and entrepreneurship in Tianhe. Overseas talent who come to Tianhe for innovation and entrepreneurship can receive an additional subsidy of 100,000 yuan.

What's more, talent selected for the major talent projects at the national or provincial level, or being recognized as outstanding experts in Guangzhou, can receive a subsidy of up to 200,000 yuan.

Newly introduced senior management talent and high-end innovative talent signed up by local enterprises can receive 100,000 yuan - and newly established academicians, postdoctoral fellows and doctoral workstations can receive up to 1 million yuan in scientific research start-up funds.

Tianhe is also providing talent with "livable, workable and creative" full-chain support guarantee services. 

They can enroll for a Guangzhou household admissions or talent green card and apply for living in talent apartments. Free physical examinations and medical care and other support services are also available.

As part of that, leaders of leading enterprises, newly introduced international cutting-edge talent and high-level talent can apply for rent-free accommodation in high-quality talent apartments. 

Furthermore, their children can obtain high-quality education from primary and secondary schools and kindergartens.
