As the Dragon Boat Festival approaches, Guangzhou's Tianhe district has entered its dragon boat race "season".

Several dragon boats have been dug out from river banks to get restored in preparation for this year's dragon boat races. A variety of dragon boat races are set to start soon, including Guangzhou's largest race, the Chebei dragon boat race, which will take place on June 15. The Tianhe dragon boat race will be held on June 23.
