Originally a Cantonese specialty, tong sui (literally sugar water) is a dessert that is typically made with a sugar water base and a variety of ingredients such as fruit, beans, rice, and sweet potato.

The Yuezhan Tong Sui Shop on Yueken Road, which opened in 2004, is one of the great places that you can go to try this dessert in Guangzhou's Tianhe district.
