Tianhe to achieve 480b yuan GDP in 2025
Recently, Tianhe issued the Tianhe Development Plan of the 14th Five-Year Period (2021-25). In this plan, the district lays out its goal of achieving a GDP of 480 billion yuan ($69 billion) by 2025.
By 2025, Tianhe plans to be home to 4,000 industrial enterprises above designated size (with an annual turnover of over 20 million yuan), 245 financial institutions and 20,000 scientific and technological enterprises. It also aims to achieve 130 billion yuan in retail sales of consumer goods, and collect over 100 million yuan in tax revenue from its 100 corporate clusters.
Tianhe will introduce a number of high-speed rail routes and subway lines along the Tianhe River. The district is also accelerating the completion of the Tianhe section of subway lines such as Line 11, 13 and 18.
Tianhe plans an average annual growth rate of more than 5 percent in total merchandise sales through 2023. To accelerate the district’s development as an international consumption center, Tianhe plans to introduce 300 flagship stores by 2025.
During this time, Tianhe will promote China's top 500 companies, listed companies and central enterprises to build their headquarters here. This will also accelerate the development of the district's building economy. Additionally, Tianhe will utilize various projects in the fields of finance, headquarters, services, and the digital industry, to create a building economy industrial chain.
