The 2023 Tianhe Auto Consumption Festival took place in Guangzhou's Tianhe district from April 7 to 9. More than 150 vehicles from 30 domestic and overseas brands were exhibited at the 20,000-square-meter exhibition area.

To boost consumption, a new round of coupons was dispersed totaling 2 million yuan ($290,397.47) as the festival kicked off.

Until June 7, people who purchase vehicles worth 100,000 to 200,000 yuan are eligible to receive a subsidy of 1,000 yuan, while those who buy more expensive cars can get 2,000 yuan. An additional 1,000 yuan will be granted if the car is a new energy vehicle.

Tianhe now has 148 auto enterprises above the designated size, and its major business circles have attracted 31 domestic and overseas auto brands. In 2022, the district's auto retail sales reached 37.51 billion yuan, accounting for 29 percent of Guangzhou's total.

An enterprise above the designated size refers to one with annual sales in excess of 20 million yuan.
