An immersive metaverse concert was staged at Haixinsha on the evening of March 22, marking the opening of the first Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Metaverse Digital Arts Festival.

A variety of art forms such as symphony, choir, rock band, street dance and ballet brought classic and popular music to entertain audiences. A rich visual arts presentation, including digital art and light shows, also dazzled spectators.

Zhang Quanxin, the concert's director, noted that it combines cutting-edge technologies such as VR, AR, glasses-free 3D, and a digital or virtual host to break the traditional concert format and bring an immersive musical experience to online and on-site audiences.

The online performances will continue after the on-site concert wraps up in Haixinsha. Players choose their own costumes in which to enter the Tianhe metaverse space and participate in interactive games to obtain generous spending vouchers sponsored by major brands. 

In addition, the event also featured a corporate showcase and an interactive shopping street.
