"Children in the kindergarten should participate in safety education activities at least once a week to enhance safety awareness," said Xu Yunyan, head of Jinsui Kindergarten. "Most of the children can not only recite various safety protocols, safety knowledge and escape methods, but they can also skillfully deal with common safety problems in life."
The safety education courses at the kindergarten were tailored for children by the Tianhe bureau of emergency management, together with experts and teachers.
Through sound effects and scene simulations, the courses help children gain experience and acquire skills through games. This promotes the conversion of safety protocols into instincts, and it also has the added benefit of bringing that knowledge into the children's homes as well.

"The curriculum system at Jinsui Kindergarten is mature," said Fang Yu, head of the information and education office of the Guangzhou bureau of emergency management. "We will begin implementing these courses throughout the city to benefit more children and lay a solid foundation for their safe growth."
There are now 337 kindergartens, primary schools and middle schools in Tianhe district, with over 245,000 teachers and students.
