Report reviews Tianhe's work in 2022
The third session of the 10th Tianhe District People's Congress was held in Guangzhou's Tianhe district from March 2 to 3, with District Head Chen Jianrong delivering the government work report.
The district's GDP reached 621.57 billion yuan ($91.57 billion) in 2022, a year-on-year increase of 2.4 percent, ranking first in Guangzhou for the 16th consecutive year. Its fixed-asset investment totaled 58.64 billion yuan in that time.

Tianhe newly added 1,029 enterprises above designated size and two listed enterprises, with its total number of companies exceeding 500,000. Seventeen licensed financing institutions were also introduced to the district last year.
In addition, over 20,000 technology enterprises were newly established in Tianhe last year, accounting for 35.7 percent of Guangzhou's total, while five companies based in the district were listed among China's top 100 internet enterprises in 2022.
Tianhe central business district (CBD), a national-level digital service export base, realized $1.74 billion in digital service exports in 2022, increasing by 65 percent year-on-year. In addition, Guangzhou International Financial City newly added a commercial building that had a tax revenue of over 100 million yuan, increasing the total number to two.

Tianhe Road Business Circle was included in the first batch of 12 national demonstrative smart business circles last year, while Tianhe Smart City introduced 21 project with an investment of over 100 million yuan each and started construction on 13 key projects.
About 67,000 new jobs were created in Tianhe in 2022. Subsidies of 1.32 billion yuan were granted by the district to stabilize employment, benefiting 260,000 enterprises.
Six kindergartens, as well as public primary and middle schools were newly built or expanded in Tianhe last year, offering 6,000 new places for students. More than 400 cultural activities were also carried out to serve over 14.83 million people.
