The promotion conference for digital yuan, or e-CNY, recently took place at the Tianhe Road Business Circle in Guangzhou's Tianhe district, with professionals from digital yuan operation banks and representatives of businesses in the business circle attending.

Tianhe will promote the implementation of 26 digital yuan application scenarios in three stages, said Wen Yuhua, deputy head of the Tianhe bureau of commerce and finance.

They will include application scenarios in the seven key people's livelihood areas of catering, accommodation, traveling, tourism, shopping, entertainment, and healthcare. They will also include 11 specific fields like specialized market and government affairs services, as well as eight innovative application scenarios like the internet of things, advance payments, and project funds.

The Tianhe Road Chamber of Commerce has been promoting the application of digital yuan at the Tianhe Road Business Circle since Guangzhou was listed as a pilot area for digital yuan in April last year, said Yu Jihui, executive director of the Tianhe Road Chamber of Commerce.

"Over time, the measures taken have stimulated people's consumption enthusiasm and the digital yuan has also begun to be widely used in the business circle," Yu added.

After this promotion conference, the Tianhe Road Chamber of Commerce will cooperate with the digital yuan operation banks, business carriers, and merchants in the Tianhe Road Business Circle to carry out a variety of activities, Yu noted. Consumption scenarios like unmanned supermarkets and mobile convenience stores will be created to improve consumers' awareness of digital yuan.
