Sinopec Guangzhou Engineering signed 12 billion yuan ($1.77 billion) in new domestic contracts last year, an increase of 173 percent from 2021, which the company has credited to being based in Tianhe district.

The company's achievements benefited from the first-class business environment of Tianhe district, which strengthens its confidence to take root in the district, said Han Weiguo, general manager of Sinopec Guangzhou Engineering, at the district's high-quality development conference on Feb 6.

Last year, the company also set up branches in Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia, and Indonesia. In addition, the Guangdong digital engineering technology research center for energy and chemical industry was recognized.

After moving to Tianhe 20 years ago, China Construction Fourth Engineering Division. has undertaken a batch of key projects, with a contract amount totalling 1.95 trillion yuan, with a compound growth rate of 29 percent, said the company's general manager Ma Yijun at the conference.

It will give full play to its resources and professional advantages to contribute to Tianhe's high-quality development, he added.

Deloitte set up its Guangzhou branch in Tianhe in August 2020, which now has over 500 employees. Guo Yancheng, a partner of Deloitte China, noted, "We will continue to train and recruit over 1,000 professionals and expand our investment in Tianhe."

Beiming Software has experienced the high standard and high level of Guangzhou's business environment since its establishment in Tianhe in 1998. The many preferential measures launched by Tianhe also add to the company's confidence in development, said Ying Huajiang, president of Beiming Software.

Ying added that the company will keep tackling key technologies to contribute to the high-quality development of Tianhe.
