The commencement ceremony for the construction of China Artificial Intelligence (Guangzhou) Industrial Park took place at the Guangzhou International Financial City in Tianhe district on Jan 30.

The industrial park will settle on the parcel where the Guangzhou second cotton mill is located. It will have a planned land area of about 100,000 square meters and a combined floor area of over 400,000 sq m, while boasting a total investment of nearly 8 billion yuan ($1.19 billion).

It will focus on the core industries of AI and the supporting industries of scientific and technological finance. It will build a leading AI industry headquarters base and AI technology transformation demonstration center in China following a "green ecology + smart industrial park" mode, while also establishing a smart industrial park service platform based on the whole cycle of AI enterprise development.

The industrial park is expected to help with the development of AI science and technology innovation in Guangzhou and the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area by serving as an AI innovation highland.
