Intl shopping festival kicks off in Guangzhou

The 11th Guangzhou International Shopping Festival began at its main venue, the Tianhe Road Business Circle in Guangzhou's Tianhe district, on Dec 28 and will last until Jan 26.

With a slogan of "WE LIGHT", the shopping festival provides customers with various activities that showcase Guangzhou's digital commerce and trade, fashion consumption, and the deep integration of culture, commerce, tourism and sports.

A variety of intricate installations and decorations have been set up at the shopping centers in Tianhe for the upcoming New Year's Day. A perfect example of this can be seen on the fourth floor of Grandview Mall, where customers can get into the festive spirit and enjoy the Tang Dynasty (618-907)-themed settings.

The OneLink Walk shopping center will hold the national debut exhibition of LIONBIT, a character created by local designer Dachuan, as well as flash mob activities to Cantonese songs. THE Plaza will be carrying out auditions for the "New Generation of Dancers" in Guangzhou.

New products will be released by XPeng Motors, Vans and YSL at the Parc Central, while a winter VS spring market will be held at the Guangzhou K11 Art Mall. The Guangzhou International Commercial Center (Guangzhou ICC) will set up themed pop-up shops on its rooftop.

In addition, shopping centers and businesses in the Tianhe Road Business Circle have launched a coupon and discount campaign. Consumers can now enjoy deals such as a reduction of 100 yuan ($14.3) for a single purchase exceeding 500 yuan at OneLink Walk.
