Tianhe to develop modern urban industries
Guangzhou's Tianhe district is seeking public opinions for the development plan for the modern urban industries for the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period.
According to the plan, Tianhe will be built into a national demonstration area for the development of modern urban industries in large cities.
By 2025, the total output value of enterprises above a designated size in Tianhe district will exceed 100 billion yuan ($14.34 billion). An enterprise above the designated size refers to one with annual sales in excess of 20 million yuan. The added industrial value will account for 7 percent of the district's GDP.
The number of enterprises above the designated size will reach 160 by the end of 2025, and new enterprises in modern urban industries will settle in Tianhe.

Significant progress will be made in the development of strategic emerging industries such as, intelligent equipment and robots, intelligent networking and new energy vehicles, biomedicine and medical devices. In addition, industries of the future, such as semiconductors and biotechnology, will achieve primary development in the district.
Tianhe will improve modern urban industries' development space by building a number of industrial parks and buildings by 2025. It is expected that the cooperation between industry enterprises, colleges, and research institutes will make remarkable achievements within this period.
Depending on the major development platforms in the district, including the Tianhe central business district and the Guangzhou International Financial City, Tianhe will build a cluster area for the headquarters of industrial enterprises.
Tianhe is set to make several breakthroughs such as digital industrialization by 2025. Its goal is to reach leading levels in China in the digitalization, networking and artificial intelligence fields.
