Tianhe's GDP rises by 3.7% in Q1-Q3

Guangzhou's Tianhe district's GDP increased by 3.7 percent year-on-year to 456.36 billion yuan ($64.44 billion) in the first three quarters of this year.

The added value of the primary industry was 149 million yuan, up 11.9 percent, while that of the secondary industry was 31.49 billion yuan, down 0.9 percent, and that of the tertiary industry was 424.72 billion yuan, up 4 percent.

From January to September, Tianhe's fixed-asset investment rose by 1.3 percent, while its total export-import volume decreased by 0.7 percent to 48.1 billion yuan. The total output value of industrial enterprises above designated size reached 79.68 billion yuan, up 1.5 percent, while the added value of industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 0.9 percent.

The total retail sales of consumer goods in Tianhe reached 152.64 billion yuan in the first nine months of this year, increasing by 1.2 percent. The online retail sales of physical commodities above the norm rose by 7.2 percent.

In the first three quarters of this year, Tianhe had 60,000 new enterprises, accounting for 27.1 percent of Guangzhou's total. A total of 343 enterprises above designated size were added in the district, increasing by 11.4 percent and making up 17.9 percent of the city's total.

It had 103 signed projects, of which six were invested in by Fortune Global 500 companies and two by top 500 enterprises of China, as well as 141 registered projects.
