Guangzhou's Tianhe district is planning to build its second batch of 14 pocket and community parks, which will cover a total area of 42,508.4 square meters.

Pocket parks, as their name implies, are small urban open spaces that are often scattered in patches or hidden in the urban structure. They add greenery to the urban environment and partly solve the demand for parks in high-density urban areas.

In June last year, Tianhe built the first batch of 14 pocket parks in the Tianhe central business district (CBD), helping form an ecological green corridor with a total green area of more than 1.2 million square meters.

In the future, the district will build at least one pocket park within 250 meters of each community to provide multi-functional activity venues for the public.
