The first Greater Bay Area Metaverse Digital Art Festival kicked off in Guangzhou's Tianhe district on July 27. With the theme of "My Metaverse," it is composed of a metaverse digital art and design creation competition, a metaverse digital art exhibition, as well as a metaverse digital art city carnival.

The metaverse digital art and design creation competition is aimed at attracting global metaverse digital cultural talents and promoting the implementation of excellent projects.

A number of investment institutions, incubation bases, and technology enterprises, including the Greater Bay Area Fund, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Guangdong) Innovation and Entrepreneurship Incubator Base, the Guangzhou Information Port, as well as the Times TIT Plaza, are providing one-stop services for participants. Roadshows, training courses, incubation, and IP creation will be applied to promote the implementation of excellent works.

The metaverse digital art exhibition is scheduled to take place in December, when 50 globally renowned digital artists and design masters will showcase their latest research results and design works in the metaverse. It is expected to enhance international exchanges and cooperation, create a broader stage for the innovation and entrepreneurship of young talents in the Greater Bay Area, as well as boost the development of digital cultural industries.

The award-winning works of the metaverse digital art and design creation competition will also be displayed at the exhibition.

In addition, a strategic cooperation agreement was signed among the publicity department of the CPC Tianhe district committee, the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, as well as the Tianhe Culture and Art Exchange Promotion Association to jointly establish the Greater Bay Area metaverse digital art research and innovation base. The parties will cooperate in the creation of metaverse digital art works, building an expert think tank system, academic exchanges and research, talent cultivation, as well as attracting major metaverse projects.
