Guangzhou International Financial City in Tianhe district is located at the intersection of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong and the Guangzhou-Zhuhai-Macao innovation and technology corridors, the Pearl River coastal economic belt, as well as the Guangzhou sci-tech innovation axis.

It was included in the Guangzhou Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy Pilot Zone in 2020, and became one of the three central supporting regions for the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area financial management and asset management center in Guangzhou this year.
