Tianhe, Baiyun, and Panyu districts occupied the top three places among the 11 districts in Guangzhou in terms of largest nighttime consumer crowds, according to the Guangzhou nighttime consumption report recently released at the launch ceremony of the Guangzhou Nighttime Consumption Festival.

Tianhe alone accounted for one quarter of the city's nighttime consumers.

In addition, the Tianhe Road-Zhujiang New Town business circle was the business circle in Guangzhou with the most active nighttime consumption, according to the report.

The annual Guangzhou Nighttime Consumption Festival, which was launched by the Guangzhou bureau of commerce in 2020, is a consumption brand to boost commerce in the city. More than 60 key business circles, commercial complexes, and business enterprises are taking part in this year's festival.

A variety of activities have been launched by shopping malls and commercial complexes in Tianhe to attract consumers.

A pop-up exhibition showcasing iconic cartoon characters like Lotso, Buzz Lightyear, and Alien is ongoing in Tianhe and will last until July 24. An alcohol and coffee-themed festival will be carried out at Grandview Plaza from Aug 19 to 21, while The Butterfly Lovers will be performed underwater at Polar Ocean World. An exhibition showing 12 classic Hong Kong films is alsobeing held at Tianhuan Parc Central.
