Tianhe launches supportive measures for HK, Macao youth
Guangzhou's Tianhe district is seeking public opinions on measures to offer more support for Hong Kong and Macao youth's innovation and entrepreneurship in the district.
A one-time settlement bonus of 100,000 yuan ($14,900) will be granted to eligible projects by Hong Kong and Macao youth. Those winning awards at national, ministerial, and provincial-level innovation and entrepreneurship competitions will be given a 100-percent subsidy according to their competition awards, with a maximum amount rewarded of 300,000 yuan.
For those Hong Kong and Macao youth projects that successfully apply for loans, including extensions, from banks in Tianhe, 50 percent of the actual loan interest will be subsidized for two years, with the maximum amount for a single project being 100,000 yuan.
If a Hong Kong or Macao youth project settled in Tianhe is identified as an enterprise above designated size, a one-time reward of 100,000 yuan will be granted.
Hong Kong and Macao youth who have brought projects, funds, and technologies, as well as established an enterprise in Tianhe within the past three years and whose project obtained more than 1 million yuan in venture capital, will be given a one-time bonus of 100,000 yuan.

Enterprises in the key supported industries of Tianhe, which newly introduced Hong Kong and Macao talent from outside Guangzhou in the current year, will be granted a one-time reward of 100,000 yuan for each person.
Academicians, post-doctorate holders or doctors from Hong Kong and Macao, who set up work stations in Tianhe, will be given an annual scientific research fund of up to 1 million yuan, 300,000 yuan, and 100,000 yuan respectively.
An annual living allowance of up to 100,000 yuan will be provided for Hong Kong and Macao youth who are newly introduced to academician work stations, postdoctoral stations, and doctoral work stations in Tianhe or the district's key supported industries.
Hong Kong and Macao academicians who newly worked in Tianhe, or post-doctorate holders and doctors who start up business in the district after leaving work stations, will be given a settling-in allowance of up to 5 million yuan, 300,000 yuan, and 100,000 yuan respectively.
Hong Kong and Macao youth projects that settle in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Guangdong) Innovation and Entrepreneurship Incubator Base will be exempt from rental fees for a maximum of three years.
Students of Hong Kong and Macao universities who have their internship at the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Guangdong) Innovation and Entrepreneurship Incubator Base will receive an internship subsidy of 3,000 yuan per month for six months.
