The Linjiang Avenue-Yuejiang Road river-crossing tunnel, which will connect Tianhe and Haizhu districts in Guangzhou, is scheduled to start construction on Dec 1, with a construction period of 1,095 days.

The tunnel will start from Linjiang Avenue in Tianhe district in the north, go through Yuejiang Road, and end at Haizhou Road in Haizhu district, spanning a total length of nearly 1.3 kilometers. It is designed with a speed of 40 km per hour, with four two-way lanes.

The project will use precast immersed tubes. The 390-meter tunnel will be composed of four steel immersed tubes, of which the steel shells will be made in a shipyard. Part of the concrete will be poured in the shipyard, while the remaining part will be cast at a wharf near the tunnel's construction site.

After completion, it will be more convenient to travel in Zhujiang New Town and Guangzhou International Financial City in Tianhe, as well as the western area of Pazhou in Haizhu.
