Guangzhou updates PRC testing requirements for visitors
Guangzhou Transport recently issued a notice updating which people must provide a negative PCR testing result taken within 24 hours to board a bus, coach, train, or flight.
According to the COVID-19 containment requirements of Guangdong province, to stop the spread of COVID-19 in the transportation sector and to prevent the local outbreak from spreading to other provinces, Guangzhou will continue to check the travel codes of passengers leaving Guangzhou or Guangdong from airports, railway stations, and coach stations before boarding until the virus is brought under control. Passengers with a history of staying in or visiting Shenzhen or Dongguan within 14 days will be required to provide proof of a negative PCR test result taken within 24 hours before boarding.
The Guangzhou municipal transportation bureau reminds all residents and passengers to abide by the aforementioned traffic control measures, pay close attention to the latest official information on COVID-19 developments, wear a mask properly, present their health code, and cooperate with the temperature taking as required.
Baiyun Airport:
From March 16, passengers with a history of staying in or visiting Shenzhen or Dongguan need to present a negative PCR test result taken within 24 hours before boarding.
Baiyun Airport reminds passengers who plan to travel by air to check their destination cities and airlines in advance for the latest local COVID-19 prevention policy and to prepare relevant materials in advance for COVID-19 prevention checks. Please wear a mask and take other self-protection measures throughout the journey.
The prevention and control policy will be adjusted on a dynamic basis in line with COVID-19 developments.
There are PCR testing sites at Baiyun Airport where passengers can take on-site tests without an appointment. Information about the testing sites is as follows:
Locations: Rooftop of the P3 parking building facing Gate 12 of Terminal 1; Outside Gate 51, Terminal 2 of Baiyun Airport.
Testing time: From 7 am to 2 am the next day
Result available in 4-6 hours
What should I do if my health code is found yellow after I arrive at Baiyun Airport?
The recent developments have been complicated. Some departing passengers only find out that their health codes have turned yellow after arriving at Baiyun Airport and cannot enter the terminal for their flight. In this case, passengers need to go to a nearby medical institution for PCR testing and can't return to the airport until their health codes are green again.
What should I do if I can't enter the airport with a yellow code? The specific transportation guidelines are as follows:
If you arrive at Terminal 1 by metro (getting off from Airport South station) with a yellow code, you should follow the instruction of the staff at the metro exit and proceed to Gate 29 of Terminal 1 to take a private car, taxi or car from an online car-hailing service to a nearby medical institution for a PCR test. You can only return to Baiyun Airport after your health code turns green again.
If you arrive at Terminal 2 by metro (getting off from Airport North station) with a yellow code, you should follow the instruction of the staff at the metro exit and proceed to the P8 parking site of the transport center to take a private car, taxi or car from an online car-hailing service to a nearby medical institution for a PCR test. You can only return to Baiyun Airport after your health code turns green again.
If you arrive at Baiyun Airport by other means of transport with a yellow code, you should follow the instruction of the staff outside the gates of the departure floor of the terminal building and take a private car, taxi or car from an online car-hailing service to a nearby medical institution for a PCR test. You can only return to Baiyun Airport after your health code turns green again.
Kind Reminder
If you plan to travel by air soon, you should check whether your health code is green before traveling, learn the latest COVID-19 prevention policies of Baiyun Airport and the destination airport in advance, as well as prepare relevant documents. If the destination airport requires proof of PCR testing, please make sure your test result is up to date before proceeding to the airport to avoid any disruption to your journey. Please cooperate with the COVID-19 prevention checks during the boarding process and take personal protection measures when traveling.
