Tianhe holds IP training to better serve enterprises
The intellectual property-themed training took place at the roadshow center of Tianhe Tangxia Zhihui Park on Jan 13 with nearly 50 people attending.
It focused on how IP can better serve the real economy, alleviate the financing difficulties, and high financing costs of innovative micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises.
Lei Chun, a researcher at the Guangzhou municipal administration for market regulation, said that the current key work is to promote IP pledging and financing, advance the integrated development of IP financing and local economy, and fully utilize the economic value of IP.
The amount of IP pledging and financing in Guangzhou in 2021 reached 9.12 billion yuan ($1.44 billion), increasing by 60.9 percent year on year, according to Lei.

Tianhe has also been promoting IP pledging and financing and has made some achievements, said Tan Xing, a researcher at the Tianhe district administration for market regulation. The district completed nearly 1.2 billion yuan of IP pledging and financing in 2021.
"But there are still problems like companies not knowing IP pledging and financing and financial institutions not lending," added Tan.
To deal with these problems, Tianhe has been carrying out the IP pledging and financing-themed trainings around the district to provide enterprises with new channels of financing and related supporting services.
In addition, experts and scholars at the training put forward solutions for the micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises in Tianhe on how to connect with financial institutions and service institutions in the future and how to obtain government subsidies based on specific cases.
