Shopping festival boosts consumption in Tianhe
Since the opening of the month-long Guangzhou International Shopping Festival on Sept 29, consumption in the city has witnessed a boom.
As the main venue of the shopping festival, the Tianhe Road Business Circle is the most popular. So far, it has attracted more than 20 million visitors.
The business circle joined hands with nearly 4,000 businesses to launch 100 consumption activities for the shopping festival.
In addition, the business circle also brought cultural elements to the shopping festival. A 15-meter-high sculpture was erected in the Zhengjia Square during the shopping festival, offering a good location for photography. Guangzhou's longest outdoor music fountain applied holographic projection and was debuted in the square.
Many renowned brands also opened their doors in the Tianhe Road Business Circle during the shopping festival such as the world's largest Lego flagship store.

During the National Day holiday, which lasted from Oct 1 to 7, the total passenger flow in the Tianhe Road Business Circle reached 13.67 million with an average daily passenger flow of nearly two million, which is a year-on-year increase of 5 percent from 2019 and 26.4 percent from 2020.
Paul Huang, senior vice president of Lego Group and general manager of Lego China, said that with its cultural heritage and innovative spirit, Guangzhou is moving towards an international city consumer center, and Lego has more expectations for the Guangzhou flagship store.
As of the end of September 2021, the Tianhe Road Business Circle had more than 10,000 businesses and brands, including 1,872 well-known domestic and foreign brands and 873 international brands.
