Guangzhou intends to revise its plans on the construction of three plots in the eastern district of the International Financial City. If the revised plan is approved, a tower 286 meters in height will be built.

Two towers will be constructed in the best area of the plot. The north tower is expected to be 286 meters in height and the south tower 220 meters high.

The new plan raises the permitted height for buildings in the financial city’s eastern district from 300 meters to 330 meters. Together with the 450-meter landmark building at the starting area of the financial city and the 488-meter skyscraper at Huangpu Port Central Business District, the twin towers will help create a dazzling skyline in the east of Guangzhou along the Pearl River.

Tianhe district has recently issued the "Outline of the 14th Five-Year plan for the National Economic and Social Development of GuangzhouTianhe District and the Long-Range Objectives Through the Year 2035", which proposed to speed up the construction of new development pattern featuring "two axes, two belts and multiple areas".

"Two axes" means the pillar industries of artificial intelligence and digital economy as well as modern service economy. "Two belts"refers to the Linjiang High-end Economic Belt and the Central Science and Technology Innovation Belt.

"Two axes" and "two belts" is expected to drive the development of Tianhe Central Business District, Guangzhou International Financial City, Tianhe Smart City (including Tianhe High-tech Zone), Tianhe Road Business Circle and Shahe Area.

With the digital economy leading this high-quality development and under the new development pattern, Tianhe district has entered a golden period in the construction and development of several major platforms.

The start-up zone of Guangzhou Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy Pilot Zone’s International Financial City area has attracted the headquarters of financial institutions such as China Guangfa Bank and Guangzhou Bank. The northern area of the financial city gathers enterprises in the fields of digital music, livestreaming, game and animation, as well as AI.
