Sam's Club, the high-end membership store of world retail giant Walmart Inc, will open its second store in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province, on Tuesday.
"We will develop more differentiated products, unique shopping experiences and better membership benefits for local customers, based on our capabilities of domestic and global sourcing," said Andrew Miles, president of Sam's Club China.
Since its first introduction to Guangzhou in 2009, the company will expand its business in the city by offering a more unique shopping experience and efficient e-commerce services for local customers, he added.
The new store in Guangzhou, located in the eastern part of the city, will offer goods sourced directly from overseas production bases and domestically selected goods, from imported beef, fruits, dairy products and chocolates to a wide range of domestic vegetables and dry goods.
After launching the new store, the company said it would open a flagship store in Shanghai and two more outlets in Wuhan, capital of Hubei province and Hangzhou of Zhejiang province within this year.
By the end of 2022, Sam's Club is expected to have a total of 40 to 45 stores in operation or under construction in the country.
