The tripartite agreement, signed on Oct 27, calls for a BCI industrial park covering 2.7 square kilometers that will span basic research, clinical validation, industrial conversion and market application. The park is designed to serve as a starting point for a broader BCI ecosystem in the district.
Tianhe brings substantial resources to the effort. The district hosts more than 10 key research platforms in related fields, two academician teams, over 1,000 artificial intelligence companies and nearly 25,000 petaflops of intelligent computing power. Its 11 top-tier hospitals provide clinical resources for medical BCI products, while more than 3,000 gaming and virtual reality companies offer testing scenarios for consumer applications.
Ten companies specializing in BCI chips, neurorehabilitation devices and AI algorithms have expressed interest in becoming tenants of the park. To attract research teams and innovative firms, the park is offering three years of rent exemptions along with dedicated funding support.
