Tianhe held a business environment promotion at the 2026 Hong Kong Electronics Fair on Oct 14, inviting global investors to explore opportunities in one of the most dynamic urban centers in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It was the district's first such event at the fair and the only government-led promotion by a Greater Bay Area district this year.

The event was held alongside a Tianhe pavilion featuring 15 local companies, part of a broader push to use Hong Kong as a springboard for global outreach. A Google China executive also spoke on brand globalization in the AI era.

Tianhe brought concrete numbers to the pitch. Its GDP reached 701.7 billion yuan ($104.8 billion) in 2025, ranking first among all Guangzhou districts for 19 consecutive years. The district is home to more than 190,000 technology enterprises and over 300,000 tech professionals, with an average resident age of 33.2.

The pitch also highlighted Tianhe's "12126" modern industrial system covering eight strategic sectors, including artificial intelligence, new energy vehicles and biomedicine as well as four future industries such as quantum technology and embodied intelligence. The district also pointed to its central business district, which generates one-eighth of Guangzhou's GDP from 0.2 percent of the city's land area, and to Google's cross-border e-commerce acceleration center, launched in Tianhe in August.
